Roshei Yeshivahs of yeshivahs located in the south of Israel, which is being bombarded with rockets from the Gaza Strip following Israel’s targeted assassination of an Islamic Jihad commander, called Hagaon HaRav Chaim Kanievsky on Tuesday morning to ask whether to cancel the regular learning sedarim. One of Israel’s most prestigious yeshivahs is in the southern moshav of Tifrach, and there are yeshivahs in other southern cities as well, such as Netivot and Ashdod.
Rav Kanievsky instructed the yeshivahs to have the bochurim learn as usual since Torah is protective and provides yeshuos. Rav Kanievsky’s instructions were given only to yeshivos gedolos and not to Talmidei Torah or chadarim for younger children in the south.
Roshei Yeshivos of yeshivas in Bnei Brak and principals of Talmudei Torah who asked the Rosh Yeshiva HaRav Gershon Edelstein how to act on Tuesday morning were also told to continue Torah learning as usual. “Torah protects and saves and there is no shiur to the Torah learning of Tinokei shel Beis Rabban.”

Why the distinction between upper schools and lower schools? Both are protected equally by limud torah but presumably the younger kids will not fully understand and will be traumatized by rockets landing nearby
Because there’s no shiur. Read the words of the gedolim.
