Seminary Girls from Bayit Vegan Flee Egged Bus that was Filling with Smoke

A bus packed with seminary students left Jerusalem’s Bayit Vegan neighborhood on Monday morning, November 4, 2019, heading to their school in Ramot. Suddenly, the bus began filling with smoke and eventually, the girls began running off.

The incident occurred on the Begin Highway as there was a smell of burning from the engine, leading to smoke beginning to fill the rear of the bus. Making things worse, the rear door malfunctioned and the chareidi girls were unable to leave the bus using that door.

The Egged driver continued driving the vehicle until nearing Ramot Junction, when he made an emergency stop and managed to open the doors in the middle of the road, permitting the girls to flee to safety. Many, if not most of the girls, were understandably hysterical, News12 correspondent Michal Chin reported.

B’chasdei Hashem, there were no reports of injuries.
