A fire broke out in a public school in the Gilo neighborhood of southern Jerusalem on Sunday. B’chasdei Hashem, firefighters gained control of the fire rather quickly, preventing it from spreading to the building.

The fire however, which burned a major electric panel, led to a cut in electricity in the school and therefore, the children are unable to return to the building at this time.

The preliminary probe seeking to determine the cause of the fire points to an overloaded electrical system, which shorted out and started the fire. There were no injuries reported.
