A five-year-old boy who was climbing on a balcony railing overlooking the street, fell and seriously injured himself on Darchei Ish Street in Beitar Illit on Sunday afternoon.
The child sustained serious injuries to his head and upper body. United Hatzalah volunteer EMTs rushed over from around the neighborhood to provide the boy with medical treatment before he was transported to the hospital in stable but moderate condition.
United Hatzalah EMT Yitzchak Deutsch who was one of the first responders at the scene said: “Eye-witnesses reported that the child fell from a balcony railing that he had been climbing on and fell numerous stories. His fall resulted in him sustaining a head injury and injuries to his upper body. Following our efforts to stabilize him at the scene, the boy was transported to the hospital for further care. He was listed as being in moderate condition.”
