Education Minister (Bayit Yehudi) Rabbi Rafi Peretz on Sunday morning, as he was heading into the weekly cabinet meeting, addressed planned coalition negotiations between Chairman of the Blue & White party MK Benny Gantz and Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, who heads the Likud party.
He pointed out that he knows both PM Netanyahu and Gantz for many years, expressing a hope that the two responsible individuals will succeed when they meet and “If Israel believes in this, I believe and hope that we will be able to announce a breakthrough.”
The Bayit Yehudi leader added that there are rumors that Gantz may agree to forming a minority government with the left-wing parties and rely on the Joint Arab List to support that government from outside. The Joint Arab List views ousting PM Netanyahu as an important goal.
Peretz cited how Blue & White MK Yechiel Tropper told KAN11 News on Sunday morning that such an arrangement would not be acceptable to Blue & White.
