Israel Moves to Standard Time on Motzei Shabbos

On motzei Shabbos, October 26, motzei Shabbos Bereishis, Israel moves clocks to standard time.

On Sunday, October 27, 2019, at 2:00AM, clocks are turned backward 1 hour to 1:00AM, local standard time instead of daylight savings time.

Sunrise and sunset will be about 1 hour earlier on Oct 27, 2019 than the day before in line with the well-known adage ‘Fall Back and Spring Forward’.

The move comes not a minute too soon for many workers as sunrise in Yerushalayim on Shabbos morning was 6:50AM, making it impossible for so many frum Jews to daven with a minyan during the week.

With the change in clocks to standard time, neitz will be an hour earlier on Sunday morning, 5:51AM.
