On Wednesday evening an improvised explosive device was thrown at the parking lot outside of Kever Rachel near Beit Lechem. Miracuously no one was injured but damage was caused to three cars.

A large number of forces from the border police rushed to the scene in order to search for and apprehend the perpetrator. A Police sapper was also dispatched to the scene in order to ensure that no other explosives are active in the area.

In a separate incident, terrorists near Beit Einun threw stones at Jewish cars returning from visiting Hebron. Thankfully only two minor injuries were reported. Structural damage was caused to numerous cars including a busted side window and windshield.

One woman sustained light wounds after being hit by flying glass from the broken side window. A stone that penetrated the car lightly injured a 4-year-old girl who was sitting in the back of the vehicle and whose hand suffered a laceration. Following a medical checkup in the field by United Hatzalah volunteers who responded to the call, the family continued on their way home.

United Hatzalah volunteer EMT and CEO of the organization Eli Pollack who treated the injured said: “I was on my way back from Hevron, together with thousands of others who attended the events at the Ma’arat HaMachpelah, and I came across the stone-throwing incident. Together with other volunteers and EMS personnel, I treated the two people injured in the incident. It was no less than a miracle that this incident wasn’t more severe and that those injured suffered only minor wounds especially as the stone penetrated the car where small children were sitting.”
