Israeli Police confiscated an incredible amount of armaments from Israeli Arabs in towns in the Wadi Ara region along Highway 65 in northern Israel. Among the arms seized were 98 pistols, 100 rifles, 65 grenades, 48 improvised explosive devices, and more than 300 ammunition cartridges. 13 people, all Israeli Arabs were detained. Over the past few weeks, Israeli police have been cracking down on the violence that has been plaguing the Arab sector of society.

Israel Police received a complaint regarding 35 headstones that were damaged in the northern Israeli city of Nof Hagalil in a cemetery where many of the graves belonged to WWI soldiers, both Jewish and non-Jewish. According to a police statement, an employee at Nof Hagalil’s old cemetery said that he discovered 35 smashed headstones during a routine inspection on Friday.
“The desecration of the graves of World War I heroes in Haifa is an abhorrent crime. We owe these soldiers a historical debt for the liberation of the Land of Israel from Ottoman rule. We are doing everything necessary to find those responsible and bring them to justice,” said Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu in a statement.

A 40-year-old man was seriously injured when he was shot on Herzl Boulevard in Ramle. Police have said that this too was a criminal incident
Artem Dolgopyat won the silver medal for the second time at the Artistic Gymnastics World Championships in Stuttgart, Germany. Dolgopyat came in second in the men’s floor exercise.
