SECURITY/DEFENSE:

*At least 22 rockets were fired into southern Israel on Shabbos, leaving two people with light physical injuries and others treated for shock/hysteria.

*3 Israelis wounded in Friday’s later afternoon fatal rocket attack in Kfar Aza. Two IDF soldiers reported in moderate condition and a female in light condition with shrapnel injuries to her abdomen.

*A number of terrorists killed and wounded in IAF attacks against Gaza terrorists on Shabbos.

*Soldiers in the Shechem area were attacked with rocks and firebombs on Saturday night. They responded with riot control adjuncts such as rubber bullets and teargas. No injuries to IDF soldiers. The soldier’s vehicle broke down north of Shechem and the Arabs began attacking them.

POLITICS, DOMESTIC & MORE:

*Kassam rocket attack victim Eddie Kedoshim, 48, a father of three from Kfar Aza, will be laid to rest on Sunday at 15:45 in his home community. He was killed in a rocket attack on Friday shortly before Shabbos.

*Hizbullah on Saturday night began withdrawing its armed forces from Western Beirut.

*PM Olmert and Shula Zaken are planning to petition the High Court of Justice to challenge the decision permitting the state to take advanced testimony from Moshe (Morris) Talansky.

*Cabinet ministers remain silent despite partial lifting of gag order on Olmert investigation.

*Hamas terrorists imprisoned in Israel calling on organization to abduct soldiers to compel Israel to agree to prisoner release deal.

*Canada is playing a role as a mediator between Israel and Hamas despite Israeli statements that there will be no talking to the terror organization.

*Likud MK Mickey Eitan calls on Attorney General Menachem Mazuz to decide within 45 days if an indictment will be filed against Ehud Olmert.

*100s of left-wing Israelis and Arabs on Shabbos protested near Tulkarem against Israel’s failure to remove area dirt roadblocks, demanding reduced restrictions on PA residents.

*HaRav Mordechai Eliyahu Shlita expected to be released from Shaare Zedek Hospital in the beginning of this week.
