A 15-year old Arab teenager from Chevron was caught by Border Police trying to enter Me’aras Hamachpeila with a knife on Tuesday, the second day of Rosh Hashanah, according to a report by Kol Chai.

The teenager’s behavior aroused the suspicion of the guards and a search of his school bag revealed a knife hidden between his school books.

Israel Police stated: “Thousands of Border Police, who were deployed across Israel as part of our preparation for Rosh Hashanah will continue in their mission to thwart terrorism and enforce order. There has been peak deployment in light of recent incidents in which minors were involved in stabbing attacks. The police by Me’aras Hamachpeila are on high alert in order to prevent any attempt to harm the worshippers and visitors there.”
