Amos Lieberman, son of Yisrael Beiteinu leader Avigdor Lieberman, got married to his Kallah Sharon Ben-Hasson at the Lago Events Hall in Rishon LeZion on Thursday night.
The Mesader Kiddushin at the Chuppah was the Chief Rabbi of Migdal Ha’Emek Rabbi Yitzchak Dovid Grossman. The Eidei Kiddushin were two Avreichim who are both Chareidi. Politicians from Yisrael Beiteinu as well as others were not invited to the wedding.
A Gabbai for Rabbi Grossman, Yossi Roash, issued a statement to the Israeli press that said:
“Rabbi Grossman works for the good of all of Am Yisroel and for the children of Israel. He is a symbol of unity and brotherly love among the people of Israel. Amos and his Kallah, who both came closer to their religion over the recent past, wanted Rabbi Grossman to marry them. They approached him more than six months ago and asked if he would do them the honor. Rabbi Grossman agreed to their request then. There is no connection whatsoever to what was recently done in politics and the fact that Rabbi Grossman agreed to marry another Jewish couple according to Jewish law.”
YWN had previously reported about some controversy regarding reports in the Israeli press that HaRav Baruch Dov Diskin, Rosh Yeshiva of Orchot Torah in Bnei Brak, had refused to be Misader Kiddushin.

Kol hakovod to Rav Grossmand for the way he handled this whole non-issue and mazel tov to the choson-kallah. Its not clear whether Rav Diskin refused to be mesader kedushin but who cares? A Rav has the right to decide at which weddings he will officiate. The political affiliations of the parents shouldn’t be relevant but sadly in EY, it is.
Rav Yitzchok also supports Rav Berland, and it’s a pela that YWN still attacks the poor tzadik
mazel tov to the chosson and kallah, all the machatonim and especially the Tzadik Rav Grossman.
Rabbi Grossman said the previous story is false as he was already asked six months ago to be mesader.
