The drug transport is expected to be carried out by two-wheeled vehicles, which will be equipped with temperature controlled facilities, which can distribute about 30 order per trip.
It is estimated that preparations for the construction of the warehouse and distribution system will be completed in the coming months, and the company will begin online prescription drug sales in the first half of 2020.
‘Shufersal Pharm Be’ is hoping that by delivering prescription medications to patients, that they will become loyal clients of the stores and then, they will also buy toiletries and other products.
The company feels people should not have to come to pick up prescriptions, but they should come to the store because of the other products sold at low prices. The drugs will be sent to their homes under the new policy.
The new policy follows the recent Health Ministry approval of selling prescription drugs online. This permits drug stores to begin selling online and delivering the drugs to the homes of clients. The permit permits the Shufersal Pharm chain to store drugs for 24 hours, and 48 hours over weekends, in designated warehouses defined as ‘authorized stores’ from which to send the prescriptions to clients.
Distribution companies will be required to pick up orders that arrive at drug chain’s main pharmacy, collect them at the end of the day in an authorized warehouse, and from there, sent to the home of clients.
