Utilizing the national vacation day provided by the elections, a 66-year-old man headed to the beach near the town of Mikhmoret located just south of Hadera. The man was pulled from the water to the shore where EMS teams proceeded to perform CPR on him in an attempt to resuscitate him.
Magen David Adom paramedic Assaf Tapuhi who was at the scene said: “When I arrived at the parking lot of the beach, passersby motioned me to rush over to the waterline. I ran across the sand to where they indicated and I saw a man in his 60s lying on the sand unconscious. People in the crowd had already begun CPR when I arrived. They told me that they saw the man unconscious floating in the water and that they pulled him out. My team and I continued the medical treatment in an attempt to resuscitate him. Unfortunately, we were forced to eventually pronounce his death at the scene.”
His name was not available.
