Israel Police is completing final preparations for Election Day for 22nd Knesset, Tuesday, September 17, 2019.
On Election Day, 18,800 police officers will be deployed, including police, border police and volunteers alongside thousands of civilian security guards, most stationed at polling station. There will be 10,700 polling stations in 4000 population centers around the country, with police charged with maintaining order towards securing the democratic process in an orderly fashion, in line with the law.
Police stress there will be zero tolerance for law-breaking activity and any attempt to disrupt voting will be met with an immediate response.
Police say special attention will also be given to public areas on Election Day, including parks, beaches, and entertainment spots, as it will be an official holiday.
