IDF CONFIRMS: Israeli Drone Fell Into Southern Gaza Strip

The IDF confirmed on Tuesday morning that one of their drones fell into the Gaza Strip during the night.

Palestinian media reported on Monday night that Hamas shot down an IDF drone in an area east of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip. Hamas claims that the drone is now in their possession.

The IDF stated that the incident is currently under investigation.

The news of the drowned drone in Gaza comes on the heels of Monday’s report of an IDF drone which crashed inside the southern Lebanon town of Ramiyeh on Monday morning.

Hezbollah claimed to have intercepted the drone as it crossed the Israeli-Lebanese border and shot it down five minutes after it entered Lebanon. However, the IDF denies the Hezbollah claim, saying that the small surveillance drone simply fell or crashed while on a routine reconnaissance exercise and that there is no concern that Hezbollah could obtain intelligence information from the drone.

Hezbollah’s Media Relations Office told the movement’s Al-Manar TV that their forces “confronted with appropriate weapons an Israeli drone as it crossed the “Palestinian-Lebanese” border towards the southern town of Ramiyeh.”

Hezbollah has threatened to begin downing Israeli surveillance drones after a drone fell into a Hezbollah stronghold neighborhood in Beirut around two weeks ago, which they blamed on Israel.
