Rare Handwritten Letter From Mekubal HaRav Dovid Abuchatzeira: “We’re Facing An Existential Battle On The Torah”

The mekubal HaRav Dovid Abuchatzeira of Nahariya, grandson of the Baba Sali, released a rare handwritten letter of support for Shas on Sunday night, according to an exclusive report on B’Chadrei Chareidim. The letter comes eight days before the upcoming elections for the 22nd Knesset in an election period fraught with attacks on religious values and figures in both the Charedi and National-Religious communities.

The letter warned of the threat to the Torah world in the upcoming elections and said that voting for Shas is the “tzav ha’shaah.”

“I am joing the kriyat kodesh of the Moetzet Chachmei HaTorah headed by Maran Chacham Shalom Cohen and the Gaonim of the generation who ruled to support Shas founded by Rabbeinu Ovadia Yosef…,” the letter said. “We are currently facing an existential and critical battle on our souls, the Torah, and our holy people.”

“The tzav ha’shaah is to support and vote for Shas…Our holy forefathers’ merit should protect all those who support, assist and vote for Shas.”

  1. so the mekubal says shas and the sar hatorah say gimmel and the rebbes say agudah; what is a jew who learns in the mir whose mother is sephardi and his father abelzer hasid to do?? perhaps vote for lieberman 🙂 .

  2. What is “rare” about a Chareidi Rav issuing instructions for his tzibur to vote for one of the religious parties, whether UT or Shas slates.

  3. #1Aren’t they all in absolute agreement and never ever disagree about for whom one should be voting for

    a common denominator
