An attempt to smuggle dual-use equipment for sewing military uniforms in commercial quantities into Gaza was thwarted. The discovery of the equipment occurred at the Kerem Shalom Crossing from Israel to Gaza.
In a joint activity with the COGAT (Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories) with Gaza, the security inspectors from the Crossings Authority and Defense Ministry detected the items, rolls of military color olive cloth for making military uniforms, the machines and more were nabbed during inspection on Sunday.
The COGAT message released on Monday, September 9, 2019, read: “Yesterday, dozens of rolls of fabric and disposable items from Israel were intercepted heading to Gaza via the Kerem Shalom Crossing.
“The rolls of material were olive green, like military uniforms. Each roll contained 60 meters (yards) of cloth which may be used by terrorists in Gaza to sew military uniforms.
“Accordingly, the goods contained in the shipment were confiscated”.

Terrorists don’t wear uniforms! If they wore uniforms, they would be “soldiers” under the Geneva conventions.
Are the Israelis saying that the people in Gaza aren’t allowed to have anything except hand sewn clothing?
Perhaps it wasn’t really clothing manufacturing equipment. The story doesn’t sound credible.
