Jerusalem police report a bus was totally destroyed as a result of arson and another bus was damaged from extreme heat, being next to the burning bus.

The incident occurred on Shabbos afternoon, as firetrucks responded to a bus and truck parking lot near the Armon HaNatziv neighborhood of the capital.

The fire department’s response was quick, thereby preventing the spread of the fire to additional vehicles. The preliminary investigation points to arson.

The findings of the fire probe will be handed over to police to conduct a criminal investigation. No motive is given in the attack but Armon HaNatziv (East Talpiot) is next to the Arab neighborhood of Sur Baher and relations with the Arab neighbors are far from cordial.
