Degel Hatorah party chairman, MK Moshe Gafne, support appointing Eli Yishai to the next cabinet, part of an agreement reached between Yishai and Yahadut Hatorah, as Yishai and his Yachad party have not entered the Knesset election race, aware he cannot pass the minimum electoral threshold. As such, Yishai is throwing his support behind Yahadut Hatorah, instructing his supporters to vote for the ashkenazi chareidi party. In exchange for this, Gafne and his colleagues will work to have Yishai appointed to a cabinet post.

In an interview with Kikar Shabbos News, Gafne stressed Yahadut Hatorah backs Netanyahu and he remains hopeful that the Prime Minister will receive the presidential mandate and he will succeed in forming the next coalition government.
