A group of rabbonim and public officials identified with the dati leumi community signed a cooperation agreement on Tuesday with Yahadut Hatorah. Yaakov Sternberg heads the dati leumi sector of the Yahadut Hatorah supporters. He is a known activist in his community.
Included in the agreement is a statement that “Yahadut Hatorah is not interested in chas v’sholom pulling out of areas of Eretz Yisrael as per the decision of the Moetzas Gedolei Torah”. There is also a statement “The increased presence of Jews in the Old City [of Jerusalem] and in areas of Yehuda and Shomron includes us as among those who are committed to caring for their personal safety.”
In addition, Rabbi David Chai HaCohen, a well-known rav in the dati leumi community, announced he intends to express support for Yahadut Hatorah. He added there are other rabbonim who support the party too, but they prefer not being exposed at this time. “We are in contact with Yahadut Hatorah and matters are being summarized by heart, and there is still the matter of formulating the text. It is not yet final, but we are nearing the conclusion.”

This is a major step forward. May all of those who acknowledge the supremacy of G-D and His Torah unite and provide a serious alternative to this regime.
