Transportation Minister (Bayit Yehudi) Betzalel Smotrich responded to the insulting remarks made by Meretz party chairman, MK Nitzan Horowitz, who labeled HaGaon HaRav Shmuel Eliyahu “a racist with a position”. Horowitz stated, “he is not just a racist, but a racist with a position”, referring to the fact that Rav Eliyahu is the Sephardi Chief Rabbi of Tzefas.
Smotrich was quick to fire back, stating “how dare you even comment of Rav Shmuel Eliyahu, who is a Gadol and a hero, a Gadol in Torah, and a hero in his wonderful work in so many areas”.
“And how do you put it in your campaign? To be a fighter against “assault” without fear. This is Rav Shmuel. This is courage!” added Smotrich.

so explain to me why Meretz is not considered racist? why are thy not reproved for anti-Jewish slander?
Because by the definition of “racism” that the Israeli legal establishment has forced on the elected government and the people, Rav Shmuel is a racist.
