A 21-year-old Yeshiva Bochur R”L drowned on a beach in Mexico.
It happened on a beach on the island of Cozumel, a mostly undeveloped Mexican island in the Caribbean Sea. The island is famed for its scuba diving.
The victim has been identified as Yosef Levi Z”L, a resident of Be’er Sheva.
The local Chabad Shaliach, Rav Dudi Kaplan is working with ZAKA and is in touch with local authorities in Mexico and Israel, attempting to have the body flown to Eretz Yisroel for timely Kevura.

This is the fifth tragic drowning that YWN has reported on in just the past few weeks.

And the van that turned over Thursday night was on River Avenue. The boys were coming back from water skiing.

Drowning is Chenek, per Mas’ Sanhedrin. By that logic, for those looking for meaning in all this, I assume it is possible that these special yidden are a kaparah for the dor for an aveirah which has the onesh of Chenek. There are quite a few issurim that are punishable with Chenek that should be looked into for teshuvah purposes. V’hamayvin Yavin.

What we need is Nevuim to guide us why these catastrophes happen..
Dryid there are many different opinions about how the world will look when moshiach comes. Many agree that there will be an end to all troubles. One classic example chazal say that the lions will live peacefully with the sheep. So nature will change when moshiach comes stop being so negative
