Ayelet Shaked is sticking to her story, insisting that despite accusations to the contrary, there is no deal between her and Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, stating that even if people in her camp approached the Prime Minister, it was done without her knowledge.
The former justice minister, Shaked, has been under scrutiny since Monday evening, due to the media blitz responding to a Haaretz report that emissaries of Shaked allegedly came to PM Netanyahu to influence him to pressure Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit to retract his objections to Shaked joining Likud. Shaked remains firm in her denial of the report, speaking out again on Tuesday morning, adding that even if persons in her camp did approach Mr. Netanyahu, she is not aware of it.
Speaking with KAN Reshet Bet Radio on Tuesday, Shaked said, “This is ridiculous. If someone said this, it is without my knowledge, not in my name and not my shlichus. The attorney general is a straight individual who makes a decision based on the facts. As justice minister, I did not speak with him about the cases against the prime minister ever. It is certain the person who leaked this, wishes to harm both me and the attorney general. The Haaretz newspaper released a distorted report.”
