Housing Minister (Kulanu) Yifat Shasha-Biton on Wednesday visited Moshav Achisemach along with MK (Yahadut Hatorah) Uri Maklev, with the minister promising that ‘tofes arba’ (occupancy permits) will be given to resident by the end of bein hazmanim.
There have been countless delays is the issuing of the occupancy permits for residents of Achisemach, and they now remain optimistic that this difficult period will soon come to an end.
Many residents have moved in illegally, wishing to be in their new home before the start of a new school year. Now, after the minister visited the moshav, escorted by Lod Mayor Yair Revivo and Maklev, the residents are relieved to hear the occupancy permits will be issued.
Maklev praised Shasha-Biton, explaining a significant problem contributing to the severe housing shortage in the chareidi sector is the fact many mayors or council heads do not want chareidim, and therefore the occupancy permit is delayed. “Here, there is a minister who truly wishes to assist, working alongside the mayor who do not have other considerations, and therefore, this is successful. This is the only way to push a project ahead”.
Achisemach is a moshav in central Israel located in the Shvelah, under the jurisdiction of Modi’in Regional Council.

What kind of country let’s peoples rights depend on “many mayors or council heads do not want chareidim”?
Aren’t there laws that protect people’s rights? This is outrageous.
