During an election campaign strategy meeting among senior Likud leaders on Tuesday, including Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, it was recommended the campaign should target the parties to the right of Likud.
Gideon Saar, a former minister and a political rival of the Prime Minister, spoke out against parties to the right of Likud. Saar suggested developing a campaign that includes attacking the parties to the right of Likud, explaining the need to get the message out, “whoever votes for Otzma Yehudit or Zehut is acting irresponsibly as neither party will meet the minimum election threshold to enter Knesset. Anyone voting for Bennet or Shaked is voting for irresponsible persons because they would not unite with Zehut and Otzma Yehudit”.
According to the News12 report, PM Netanyahu attacked Shaked, who heads the URWP, labeling her “the new Tzipi Livni, jumping from party to party”. Others attending the meeting added they fear if URWP receives more than 10 votes, Shaked will do everything within her power to ensure that Netanyahu does not assemble the next coalition government.
