At 20:00 Tuesday night, a one-minute siren will mark the beginning of this year’s Memorial Day for soldiers and members of the nation’s security agencies who fell in the line of duty since 1948, numbering 22,437. After the sounding of the siren on Tuesday night, the state ceremony will get underway at the Kosel Plaza.

A two-minute siren will sound on Wednesday morning at 11:00, marking the beginning of the state ceremony in Mount Herzl Military Cemetery in Yerushalayim and military cemeteries around the country.

At 13:00, the ceremony for 1,634 Israelis murdered in terror attacks will take place in Mount Herzl Military Cemetery.
