According to the Jerusalem municipality website, the cost of hourly parking will increase next week, beginning on the 15th of August. The cost of an hourly parking space, a ‘blue and white’ curb area, will increase by 10 agorot and hour, an insignificant sum for most. Simultaneously, Mayor Moshe Leon continues efforts to implement his plan for limited free parking for Jerusalem residents.
The price after the increase will be NIS 5.80 an hour as opposed to NIS 5.70 today. The increase, according to estimates, will add between NIS tens and hundreds of thousands to the city’s coffers monthly.
Those with a Yerushalmi card, EasyPark, or paying via a smartphone app, will enjoy a 20% discount on the fee.
