The Jerusalem mayoral race is underway as flyers and pashkavilim to get rid of Mayor Nir Barkat have been visible over recent days. The elections will be held in the fall.
One flyer lists the mayor’s failures in the hope of persuading voters to select another candidate. The flyer does not endorse any of the candidates, but it simply advises voters not to vote for Barkat. The reasons given include;
1. The poor sanitation services
2. City Hall’s budget cuts to local minhelet community councils
3. City Hall’s failure in addressing the needs of the eastern part of the city
4. The ongoing strife between City Hall and the Prime Minister’s Office
5. The total disregard for Kedushas Shabbos in the city
6. The disastrous situation vis-à-vis public transportation on Aggripas Street by Machane Yehuda
