Ben-Gvir Blames Smotrich For Failed Right-Wing Unity Efforts

Attorney Itamar Ben-Gvir, one of the leaders of the Otzma Yehudit party, on Sunday, July 28, 2019, attacked the chairman of the Ichud Leumi faction of Bayit Yehudi, Transportation Minister Betzalel Smotrich, stating that outwardly, he shows a desire for right-wing unity, but in fact, he is working against it.

Persons close to Ben-Gvir are quoted telling the dati leumi Srugim website that Smotrich makes statements in favor of achdus, but he continues working to sabotage such efforts — a union between Bayit Yehudi and Otzma Yehudit, as was the case in the last Knesset election.

Otzma Yehudit appears to be preparing to run independently in the election for 22nd Knesset, set for Tuesday, September 17, 2019, as senior Otzma Yehudit official, Baruch Marzel, is establishing an election headquarters.
