Rice Leaves Disappointed & Concerned – No Deal in Hand

US_Department_of_State.jpgWhen US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice arrived over the weekend for a high-level two-day shuttle diplomacy mission, she hoped to emerge with new hope, perhaps something substantial to present to President George W. Bush concerning negotiations between Israel and the Palestinian Authority ahead of Bush’s imminent visit for Israel’s 60th Independence Day. Bush will be a keynote speaker at the Jerusalem Convention Center at an Independence Day event hosted by President Shimon Peres.

Rice met with Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni, PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas (Abu Mazen) and others, and concluded her mission with a meeting with Olmert on Monday morning.

While Olmert exhibits an air of confidence, Rice is well aware that she is leaving empty handed, keenly aware that Olmert’s position as the nation’s leader is compromised – shadowed by reports that he will soon be compelled to step down from office as the ongoing police investigation against him, the fifth, will be the final nail in his political coffin.

Analysts agree that at present, Olmert’s position has been compromised and he cannot continue in good faith negotiating with the Palestinian Authority of Syria, with the Arab leaders well aware he is not likely to be in a politically steady position to sign any major agreements.

  1. Yeshuas Hashem K’heref Ayin! Lev sarim umelachim b’yad Hashem! Much as we worry “what’s going to be?” and is a proper catalyst for Teffilah, let this stand as a lesson to us all – He orchestrates ALL events of the world – and much more openly the needs of His children!

  2. Condy Rice would do well as the commissioner of the NFL. It’s a job that a) is good for a minority, b) doesn’t require a whole lot of intellect, and c) Even if you cheat/lie to the players, they are so brain-damaged that they won’t notice.

  3. What is she so disappointed about? That she wasn’t able to leave Israel anymore defenseless than she is now?

  4. She is disappointed that more checkpoints were not demolished to let the killers enter the metropolis of Israel and do what they do best. This will effect her future salary as a lecturer, she will only be receiving $100,000 per speech rather than $250,000 for destroying the state of Israel. Universities pay big bucks for Israel-destroyers, look at what J. Carter receives.

  5. #1 (PloniAlmoni) Much as I agree with the nature of your comment, I cannot accept that “Lev sarim umelachim b’yad HaShem” applies to the Jewish so-called Leaders of Israel. The Chazon Ish was once asked this question if one can apply this Chazal to modern day Israeli leaders and he supposedly replied that not. We continue to hope and pray for the quick (political) downfall of Prime Criminal Olmert and his bunch of crooks and may the next Leader of Israel be Moshiach Tzidkeinu.
