Yahadut Hatorah MK Yisrael Eichler on Wednesday morning spoke with Kol Berama Radio host Noam Zeigler, explaining that now, during the Three Weeks, the chareidi tzibur is refraining from serious action despite the fact chareidi Yiddishkeit is under attack in Israel.
Eichler explained, “this may lead to [Yisrael Beitenu party chairman, MK Avigdor] Lieberman getting stronger. There are all kinds of things that I forgive during the Three Weeks, but in time, we have to shake off the dust and awaken, and go running from place to place, and fight our war of existence.”.
He also said that, “if we do not fight now, we cannot erase it even after the elections. The only weapon we have in this country is the ballot slips, not in street demonstrations or any other way”.

Yiddeshkeit is not under attack in EY. What is under attack is the small segment of the Chareidi tzibur that engages in violent demonstrations against the medinah, refuses to share in the national defense and makes little contribution to the nation’s econoy and seeks to impose its hashkafah on the overall population who may not share their beliefs. Again, this is only a small percentage of Chareidim but they seem to assert a disproportionate role in the national political debate.

finally! and not a moment to soon as we read next week “הַֽאַחֵיכֶ֗ם יָבֹ֨אוּ֙ לַמִּלְחָמָ֔ה וְאַתֶּ֖ם תֵּ֥שְׁבוּ פֹֽה” Its time they join their brothers , especially when they hate Torah so much that they look for any excuse to play in the street blocking cars and causing trouble.
