Monday afternoon saw three infants seriously burned in three separate incidents around Israel. A three-year-old was burned by scalding oil in his home in Geva Binyamin just after 6:00 p.m. In a separate incident, a two-year-old girl was severely burned by boiling water in his home in Netanya shortly thereafter. In a third incident, a year-and-a-half-old boy was burned by boiling soup that fell on him in his home in Jerusalem.
All three incidents occurred in the kitchens inside the family homes of the children. Volunteers from United Hatzalah responded to all of the calls and treated the children at the scenes. In two of the emergencies, Magen David Adom ambulance teams treated and transported the injured to the hospital. The third child was transported by United Hatzalah’s ambulance team. All three of the children were listed as being in moderate condition.
United Hatzalah volunteer EMT Michael Chai Cohen who was one of the first responders at the scene in Geva Binyamin reported: “We treated a young boy for burns on his upper body as a result of having had scalding hot oil spilled on him while french fries were being prepared. After receiving treatment at the scene he was transported to Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital.
EMT Yisrael Litzman who was one of the first responders at the scene in Jerusalem said: “The girl was burned after a hot soup spilled on her in her home. She was taken to Hadassah Ein Kerem hospital for further care by a United Hatzalah ambulance team.”
EMT Shalom Ben Moshe who was one of the first responders at the scene in Netanya said: “The infant was burned by boiling water that spilled on his upper body. He was transported to Laniado hospital for further treatment.”

These 3 weeks are notorious for multiple tribulations. May the Almighty say “Enough” to all tribulations, and transform these days לששון ולשמחה as per the prophecy of Zechariah.
Babies don’t belong in kitchens when cooking is being done!
