Police have been focusing on the increase in break-ins in southern Jerusalem areas, leading to the arrest of two suspects on Wednesday, who were found in possession of burglary tools and stolen items.

As part of a large operation to apprehend the thieves, police on Wednesday arrested two suspects who were riding a scooter, which was stolen as well; only to learn they were in possession of stolen items and burglary tools.

The suspects were unable able to explain what they were doing with the tools or why they were in the area in which they were apprehended. The suspects taken into custody are believed to be part of a burglary ring operating in the area.

The suspects are Arab residents of East Jerusalem.
