Firefighters battled the forest fire near the communities of Aderet and Rogolit for nine hours on Wednesday, before declaring it under control. Residents were evacuated from their homes, but B’chasdei Hashem, there are no reports of serious injury.

Firefighters remained on the scene the entire night to be certain the blaze did not start up again due to the high winds in the area.

The fire department reports that they also were successful in preventing seriously property damage, despite the difficulties in bringing the fire under control.

There were many other fires around Israel on Wednesday due to the sharav heatwave, including the Haifa district, Shomron, Hadera and Ramat Pinchas in the Tel Aviv region.
