Police apprehended a 19-year-old arsonist from Rosh Ha’ayin who allegedly set a residential residence on Sanhedrin Street in the city on fire. The suspect was arrested on Wednesday and the prosecution submitted its position paper ahead of the criminal indictment.
On Shabbos, July 6, 2019, during the early morning hours, police received a call of a fire on Sanhedrin Street in Rosh Ha’ayin. Police and fire responded. The fire was extinguished without injury but there was significant damage to the building. Residents had to leave after it was determined the structure was no longer safe to live in.
Investigators learned the suspect arrived from Petach Tikvah and he asked the taxi driver to wait for 10 minutes. He then drove him to Kfar Sava. The cab driver, who is not suspected of being involved, let the suspect off and continued his work.
The suspect was arraigned in the Petach Tikvah Magistrate’s Court and the prosecution present the position paper, indicting an indictment was being prepared against the suspect. His remand was extended for six days to permit the prosecutor to prepare the indictment.
