VERY TZNIYUS: Women Complain They Are Barred From Eastern Jerusalem Cafes

Men smoking sheesha (water pipe) in a cafe in the Arab Souk in the Old City, Jerusalem, Israel.

The cafes in eastern Jerusalem, venues where [Arab] men gather to smoke their nargilla (hookah), do not permit women to enter. This refers to the cafes located in the Har HaZeisim area of the capital, MyNet reports.

The report states that the women in that area of Jerusalem do not have the “privilege” of visiting the male strongholds, and they are now questioning why the situation is this way in 2019.

The women explain the same situation exists in other [Arab] areas of the capital, including Beit Haninah, but nothing is done.

It appears that authorities are only quick to enforce mixed gender venues when the chareidim try to host separate seating events.

  1. Arab women have never and will never be equal to men. Read the Koran where it describes how a man should beat his wife into submission.
