Confident Iran is using flights to Beirut to continue supplying Hizbullah terrorists, Lebanese Druze leader Walid Jumblatt is calling for a cessation of such flights as well as the ousting of Iran’s ambassador to Lebanon.
Jumblatt, who is backed by the United States, is aware that he may be a target for assassins, along with the majority leader in parliament, Sa’ad Hariri, but they appear determined to call for breaking the strong ties with Iran.
Jumblatt believes Syria is behind the assassination of senior Hizbullah commander Imad Mughniyeh [with Damascus pointing the finger of blame at Israel], because he (Mughniyeh) had information surrounding the assassination of former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafiq Hariri.
Jumblatt also blames Damascus for other political assassinations as Damascus continues efforts to exert its political influence in Lebanon.
