Shas leader MK Aryeh Deri during an address in the Hamodia Conference explained that from his perspective, tzoros facing the chareidi tzibur is the direct result of discrimination. He explained that efforts to draft bnei yeshivos into the IDF and the government decisions to cut child allowance payments and other financial assistance are a direct consequence of ethnic discrimination found in the chareidi community.
Deri addressed the kenos sponsored by the chareidi newspaper held on Tuesday, 24 Tammuz 5773 in Jerusalem’s Binyanei Ha’uma.
Deri called the discrimination in chareidi mosdos “a chilul Hashem that is unparalleled”, adding HKBH decided “If you will not unite for good, I will unite you by force.”

One of the leaders of the Labor (i.e. secular socialist) party said the same thing in an interview with Arutz Sheva.
As long as the primary motivation of groups such as Yesh Atid and Bayit Yehudi are hatred of the haredi lifestyle (i.e. our insisting on being 100% frum in spite of anything, and their insisting that we become “modern”), its going to be very hard to discuss other serious issues such as relations with the Arabs, military service or the welfare state.
I think (similarly) that it’s also the result of the frum community not being united at all. If all the charedim would have united, they could have won the elections, and this creep lapid would never have gotten in. If we have no unity, and so much sinas chinam, we are going to lose, all the time.
