The Ashkelon Magistrate’s Court on Monday, July 15, 2019, accepted a police request to extend the remand of the suspect for an additional week to permit police investigators to continue gathering evidence in the case of the assault on the 13-year-old chareidi girl.

The suspect was familiar with the girl from his contracting work in the school she attends in Ashdod. He allegedly took her to an apartment where the assault occurred.

The court also extended the gag order prohibiting publication of additional details in the ongoing case. The hearing was held behind closed doors.
