Once again, a major embarrassment for the Blue & White party, as News12 correspondent Amit Segal on the Sunday evening news released a voice recording of senior party member Moshe Ya’alon, in which he is heard speaking out against the rotation agreement between party leader Benny Gantz and the number two man, Yair Lapid. The agreement states that if they form the coalition government, Gantz will first serve as prime minister for half the term followed by Lapid.
Despite differences between leaders of Blue & White, Ya’alon insists they are not significant enough to break apart the party.
One is reminded that just a week ago, News12 released an audio in which Ya’alon is heard saying that Gantz and Gabi Ashkenazi are against the rotation involving Lapid and Gantz, as only Lapid is in favor. The comments were apparently made during a meeting of the four top leaders of the party, Gantz, Lapid, Ya’alon and Ashkenazi.
On Monday, Walla News quotes Ya’alon blaming Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu for trying to torpedo the partnership which exists between the party’s leadership.
