Blue and White party leader MK Benny Gantz visited a number of prominent dati leumi rabbonim, but he did so without his number two man, Yair Lapid.
According to a Yisrael Hayom newspaper report, released by Daniel Roth-Avneri, the meetings took place in the Nes Harim home of MK Yechiel Tropper of the Blue and White party. His father, a well-known dati leumi community educator, Rabbi Danny Tropper was present along with Rabbi Avi Gissar (Rav of Yishuv Ofra), Rabbanit Yafeh Gissar (Chair of Bat Ami), Rabbi Rafi Feuerstein (Tzohar Rabbonim, Rav of shul in Har Nof), Rabbi Moshe Lichtenstein (Rosh Yeshivat Har Etzion), Rabbi Shlomo Brin (Chairman of the Herzog College) and Rabbi Yisrael Semet (Lod).
As reported in recent weeks, in Blue White they have been assigned a strategy to strengthen the connection with right-wing voters, who they abandoned in the previous elections, in order to grab as many Likud votes as possible.
In response to a report on Gantz’s meeting with the rabbonim, Blue and White officials released the following statement: “Blue White is a centrist party, and as such it appeals to many audiences in Israeli society, and the leaders of Blue and White believe in the importance of dialogue and cooperation. We respect the participants in the meetings and do not elaborate on what is said in them.”
