Hundreds of children arrived on Sunday evening in front of 7 Sderot, where the Municipality of Sderot held a special balloons festival for the children of Sderot and the surrounding communities. During the activity, the visitors met with figures made from balloons, watched an expert balloon artist, underwent folding and balloon decoration workshops, built a decorated balloon wall and enjoyed a spectacular show of balloons. At the end, the guests even blew up a giant 1.8 meter balloon, with the caption: “Balloons are happy.” The event was free of charge.
“Exactly a year after we conducted the big kite, we were excited to give the children of the region a kind of corrective experience,” said the manager of the 7 Sderot Center, Asi-Bergel Ozen. “When we heard that children in the area were afraid of balloons, we knew that we needed to get involved immediately to make them feel positive about them, as it should be in the first place…”
Sderot Mayor Alon Davidi: “The terrorists on the other side of the fence use an object that is fun and joy for children for other purposes – the sowing of destruction, the attempt to harm and sabotage our great work in Sderot and the Gaza vicinity.”
