The Kosel guard who shot and killed Doron Ben-Shalush remains behind bars. His remand was extended for an additional five days on Sunday, 22 Tammuz 5773.
The guard, a former officer in the border police, was in a restroom near the Kosel when the victim reportedly shouted “Ala Akbar” and then reached for something in his pocket. The guard, a 25-year-old Druse citizen, told police he believed the victim was reaching for a weapon, prompting him to open fire.
The guard is not being released on bail at this time as the investigation against him continues.
