Many can fondly remember the candy cigarettes that used to be available, some chewing gum and they even had a powdery substance at the tip mimicking smoke from a real cigarette.
This is exactly why these cigarettes and all candy looking like cigarettes are now banned from being sold in Israel, not because they pose a health risk, but because they send a bad educational message, and because, they may lead to a child later looking to experiment with the real thing.
This is part of Israel’s expanding effort to limit the cigarette industry, and individuals caught selling the candy cigarettes, will be fined NIS 75,300 while the fine for companies will be NIS 150,600.

YOU CAN SELL REAL CIGARETTES BUT NOT CANDY ONES!
…and yet kids are exposed to a lot of inappropriate stuff on TV and Internet that for some strange reason is socially accepted in their circles and no one worries that the kids will act upon that as well.
I don’t know one person that will tell you that candy cigarettes got them interested in the real deal. Maybe if adults would be responsible examples the kids would not start smoking. To my understanding kids fascination of smoking has always been it being an “adult” activity.
