3,500 mispallalim were on hand during the night (Tuesday to Wednesday) at Kever Yosef in PA (Palestinian Authority) occupied Shechem for the yahrzeit. They were escorted by IDF soldiers and transported in armored buses.

The mispallalim arrived from many areas of the country for the yahrzeit, wishing to be mispallel at the tziyun of Yosef HaTzaddik.

Among the security forces taking part in the operation were IDF soldiers and border police.

The commander of the 9203rd Battalion, Lt.-Colonel (reserves) Aviya Ben-Elchanan said, “Tonight, people were permitted to visit Kever Yosef. IDF troops in cooperation with border police entered Shechem ahead of the mispallalim to ensure their safety and watch over the kever while mispallalim were present and protected them during the tefilla.

“Standing forces and reservists will continue to stand shoulder to shoulder to protect the security of residents and the entire sector”.
