Billionaire Roman Abramovich has signed an option for the purchase of a villa in Herzliya Pituach built on 9 dunams (2.2 acres); where he is currently renting, but it now appears he will be paying $63 million to purchase it.
According to the Calcalist report, Abramowitz is preparing for another deal in Israel, the purchase of the exclusive villa. The report states three months ago he signed a one-year rental agreement for a year, and he now appears to be working to exercise the purchase option in his lease.
The deal was made with Alan Howard, a British Jewish philanthropist who purchased two plots in 2006, from Lenny Recanati and the widow of Abba Promanchenko, one of the founders of Elite. On the plots, he built a 2,000 square meter building. Howard paid $21 million.
This is not the first asset purchased by the Jewish billionaire who moved to Israel from London. In 2015, Abramovich bought the Varsano Hotel in N’vei Tzedek, which stands on a 1.5-dunam plot between Shabazi and Ein Yaakov Streets for NIS 100 million. Abramovich, 52, completed his immigration process to Israel last May when he was forced to leave England after his investors’ visa was not renewed.
Roman Arkadyevich Abramovich is a Russian-Israeli billionaire businessman, investor and politician. Abramovich is the primary owner of the private investment company Millhouse LLC, and is best known outside Russia as the owner of Chelsea F.C., a Premier League football club.
