Yad L’Achim Rescuees Spend A Day in Communal Prayer

Some 50 Jewish women spent the day together in prayer at the graves of Tzaddikim in northern Israel. The women, who until recently were living as Muslim women in dangerous communities after having been seduced by Arab men, or having chosen to live with Arab men but then wanting to leave and not being allowed to do so, were rescued in the past few years by the organization known as Yad L’Achim.

After helping the women leave their threatening situation with families who threatened them and in many cases abused them, the organization provided each of the women with home and a safe refuge within a Jewish community in Israel.

The spiritual journey began with prayers in Meron and continued with visits to Amuka and Tevaria. According to a report in Bchadrei Charedim, many of the women are still looking to build a Jewish family and prayed for success with this.

At the end of the day, the women got together to speak about their experiences and show gratitude to the organization that has helped them in returning to their Jewish lives. One woman, who had just recently been extricated from her situation, spoke about how this was her first time ever visiting the graves of Tzaddikim. Another woman spoke about how the organization is helping her deal with her daughter, whom she had just told that her father was an Arab. “Now that I am here with you, I feel that I am not alone in facing my daughter,” she said at the end of the trip.

Yad L’Achim has committed to providing these women with everything they need both physically and spiritually in their journeys to Yidishkeit in Israel.
