Grandson Of Late PM Ariel Sharon Will Receive His Combat Navigator Wings

A grandson of late prime minister, Ariel Sharon, a son of Gilad Sharon, will very soon be completing the IAF pilots’ training program and receive his wings as a combat navigator during the festive ceremony in the air force’s Chatzeirim base.

Prior to being recruited, ‘R’ was an honor student in the Shar HaNegev High School. A good family friend told Walla News, “It is the type of child everyone hopes for; “modest, humble, respectful, salt of the earth who loves the land and the state. A simply marvelous child”.

In this way ‘R’ joins the rest of his family who served in combat units in the IDF and in special positions: his grandfather Ariel is considered one of the greatest fighters in the IDF and has reached the rank of major-general in the army; His father, Gilad, served in the paratroopers brigade and later became a lieutenant colonel in the reserves, and his uncle, Omri, served in the Shaldag unit and attained the rank of lieutenant-colonel in the reserves.

“They do not talk about it, they prefer it to remain quiet, and like his father Gilad, ‘R’ is very modest, and we are all excited,” said a family member.
