Israel’s First Lady, Mrs. Nechama Rivlin A”H was niftar on Tuesday and the levaya was held on Wednesday, June 5th. Following is a photo essay of that levaya.
Shiva is being held in the official President’s Residence between 10:00AM-1:00PM and 4:00PM-7:00PM.
At the request of the family, and in deep appreciation of the love and affection that the citizens of Israel gave to Nechama during her illness, all will be permitted to make a shiva visit.
The shiva area is the President’s Lounge and Auditorium.

Was wondering if they would pasken that as a head-of-state, he should sit on a regular chair, as otherwise could possibly be seen as a mechila in kavod, but it appears that the cushion is off, and he is lower than the others.
This should really be kept private. Be better.

Why do Israelis place wreaths on Kevarim? I never saw this goyishe custom in any levaya in chutz, even the most secular. My father AH who was in the chevra kadisha for decades told me Jews don’t do this, but here in Israel it’s common. Can someone give an answer? TIA
