Feiglin: Teaming With Bennet & Shaked May be Contingent on Primaries

Moshe Feiglin, who chairs the Zehut party which failed to meet the minimum electoral threshold to enter the current Knesset, is not ruling out partnering with Naftali Bennet and his New Right party in upcoming elections.

In his usual calm manner, Feiglin said, “We ask all of you not to be moved by the wave of rumors and disinformation that will accompany us until Election Day. Please believe only official publications of the party and its representatives”.

Feiglin confirms that he has met with Bennet, a meeting described to be productive and positive, citing there is a basis for continues talks and a partnering deal is a possibility for the upcoming elections. However, cites Feiglin, he will only agree to partner with a party that shares Zehut’s platform and vision, as there must be common ground between the parties.

Feiglin feels the correct way to implement such a partnership would be to have the candidates from both parties compete in open party primaries which permit any citizen of Israel to vote, as Zehut did in the last election.

Feiglin assures Bennet and the party’s number two person, Ayelet Shaked, that there will be fare and transparent division between the parties that will run together as a technical block. “I and the Zehut party are committed to accepting the public’s decision and to continue to be leading partners in Israel’s Freedom Coalition” Feiglin added.
